Nature is always my first source of inspiration. Scottish landscape scenes are so rich in colour and texture that it's difficult not to be inspired. For me though it is not always the most obvious that I find interesting, I love to find contrasts , like the brightly painted doors on cottages set against the wild rugged landscapes or the little red leaves hidden among the brown.

1950's design also has a big influence on my work I love the simplicity and functionality of the era along with the emphasis on form and a bold use of colour. I enjoy mixing strong saturated shades with muted tones which help to bring the product to life.

The Autumn Winter Range was inspired by a visit to rural Perthshire. The expansive landscape inspired texture and proportion. Colour ideas come from my observations of heavily weathered paintwork on the buildings and structures. This careful balance of proportion, colour and texture is key to the Plora approach.

For Plora's launch collection I wanted to show that traditional knitting techniques combined with beautiful colour and design could create a contemporary and stylish range of products, beautifully made using the best skills and raw material available.

I hope you enjoy the Plora collection and spread the word about this new brand Made in Scotland with love for you and your home.

Enjoy!
